Mindtime Backup wants to be the best online backup supplier for partners and customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Data security and service are our main focus.

Vision

Every middle-sized and small business should have a safe and good backup elsewhere that is always available. This is why, together with our partners, Mindtime Backup keeps developing adequate online backup solutions for businesses so that they can remain protected against data loss due to hardware failure, cybercrime and personal mistakes.

Policy statement

Information is a business asset that represents a certain value for the organisation and therefore has to be continuously and properly protected. Information can exist in different formats. It can be printed, electronically stored, orally transferred, sent by mail or by digital media. This is a daily concern regarding the information of Mindtime Backup’s customers. To protect this information as well as possible in a structured manner, Mindtime Backup employs a management system for data protection. This management system is designed according to ISO/IEC 27001, the international standard for data protection and NEN 7510, the Dutch standard for secure handling of patient medical data.

Data protection is defined as maintaining confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. Information must be protected against a broad variety of threats and risks:

• Confidentiality: information is only accessible by those who are authorised;
• Integrity: the information is correct and complete;
• Availability: authorised users have access to the assets and other related information at the right moment

The Mindtime Backup board points out that information carrying assets have to be protected in a proper way by designing and maintaining a connected system consisting of objectives and control measurements. The system has to be evaluated periodically, striving for continuous improvement according to the plan-do-check-act cycle. Legal requirements and regulations have to be taken into account, as do the requirements of the international ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and NEN 7510:2011 standards.

In addition, the specific needs for the purposes of data protection and information protection in healthcare are taken into consideration. For every customer the impact of unavailable or incorrect information can be large. It affects business-critical information or customer information that should be available to maintain their daily operations. All information that has been backed up at Mindtime Backup is encrypted. This way it is assured that, in the case of healthcare related information like patient medical data, third parties have no access to it, and neither does Mindtime Backup.

Range: the management system for data protection of Mindtime Backup relates to the management system for data protection on behalf of the delivering infrastructure and service provision for online backup services through the Mindtime Management System using outsourced datacenter services.

The information protection policy of Mindtime Backup applies to all employees, interns, guests, visitors and external relations. All organisation departments and information carrying assets are subject to this policy.
