MS Exchange Mail level backup

From Microsoft Exchange Server, the Mindtime Backup software provides the opportunity for Brick-Level backup (also called Mail-Level backup). This means that you can select individual users, folders, diaryies or e-mail in order to backup or recover. This way, you don't have to restore the whole mail server, you can just call back that one, important e-mail.
All versions of MS Exchange Server from 2000 onwards are supported: Server 2000, Server 2003 and Server 2007. Mindtime Backup is available via a national partner network of ICT- service providers.

Continuous Data Security

The Mindtime Backup software offers Continuous Data Protection (CDP). With this technology, each version of your data is saved on both the hard drive and the backup server. With Continuous Data Protection, the saved documents can be found back on the backup server. It provides great reliability. Continuous Data Protection works on servers, desktops and laptops. It works effortlessly and transparently without any human interference.

Delta Block Technology

Using delta block technology, only data that has changed is saved. On average, less than 0,5% of the total file space changes. Only that data needs to be saved. With this technology, the backup software checks which data blocks have actually changes, and then these are compressed. With a total data size of around 100 GB, only about 300 Mb will have to be sent every day.

Volume Shadow Copy

Backups can also be made of files that are open and being used at the time of the backup, without any problems. For instance, the file containing all the e-mails in Outlook, Outlook.Pst, which is almost constantly in use. Backups can be made of these files thanks to the support provided by Shadow Copy backup.

Encryption

All files are encrypted before they are sent via the internet. This is done by means of the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). AES is a subset of the Reijndael-algorithm, where the block size is 128-bits and the key is 128, 192 or 256. Reijndael can handle any block size and key that is a multiplication of 32-bit with a minimum of 128-bit and a maximum of 256-bit.
